Blog | We’re now Barclaycard ePDQ partners!
11th March 2014
Project Octo has been accepted as a Barclaycard ePDQ partner, providing our clients with quality support and better merchant rates.
At Project Octo we offer clients the ability to use any payment gateway of their choice, whether that is Paypal, SagePay, WorldPay or another of their choice. Having recently been very impressed with the Barclaycard ePDQ integration process, and the highly competitive rates they can offer, we are now proud to have been accepted as an eCommerce partner.
One Stop Shop
What many eCommerce businesses fail to fully appreciate is the twin cost of paying a payment gateway fee and also the merchant transaction fees. The gateway is the secure connection through which the cardholders information is initially passed, whilst the transaction fee is then the charge placed on checking and approving the payment details. Both services often come with a fixed/per transaction fee and it can get quite confusing to estimate your annual fees.
Barclaycard ePDQ is a one stop shop. Acting as both the gateway and the transaction processor, it makes life far more simple for the retailer. One provider, one bill, and one place for support.
Easy eCommerce Integration
All of the payment providers readily compete on fees, but only a few actually consider the integration process for the web developer. Barclaycard improved their whole platform to make life easier for the eCommerce provider, and so far on our initial projects using them, they have been first class in their support too.
Little questions and issues will always crop up when dealing with something so technical, and their responses have been great.
See How it Works
Barclaycard has created a number of help videos to explain the process. Check out their YouTube channel.
Always Your Choice
We recognise that each client has their own preferences and often established accounts for offline transactions too. We will always integrate whatever payment gateway the client asks, and this partner status will not change that.
We can certainly recommend Barclaycard from our developer point of view, though we recognise that choosing your payment provider is down to a number of factors.
